Bimbofication is a project exploring contemporary visual culture, while specifically looking at sexualisation of culture and femininity as a social construct in a post-feminist media culture. Looking at how fourth wave feminism are using irony and knowingness (retro-sexism) to subvert the male gaze, I investigate cultural phenomenon such as the return of the bimbo as well as the re-emergence of fetish fashion and how the revival of these aesthetics are not only connected to feminism, but also to the current global crisis and the bizarre times we live in.
